Among the more compelling music releases of 2012, 'Kingdom of Fireflies' presents a fresh and intriguing collection of songs crafted by one of the best experimental hip hop acts in the United States. Having won over myriad fans both in the US and abroad, Restoring Poetry in Music is proud to release their first full length album since 2007's 'Pyramids in Moscow' and 2004's 'Dream Awake'.

Restoring Poetry in Music (RPM) has been creating and performing genre-defying music since they first formed in the Washington, DC area in 2002; 'Kingdom of Fireflies' marks the group's debut album on the independent Tripwire Music label. Performers on 'Kingdom of Fireflies' include Raw Poetic (aka Jason Moore) as MC, Patrick Fritz on guitars, samplers and backing vocals, Aaron Gause (of Uzi Octapus fame) on keyboards and samplers, Tony Acampora (of Middle Distance Runner and Greenland) on bass guitar, and the legendary Jon Laine (who has performed with Aretha Franklin, Erykah Badu, Angie Stone, Common, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Charlie Byrd, to name a few) on drums. 'Kingdom of Fireflies' was recorded and produced by Patrick Fritz, Aaron Gause, Jason Moore and Ryan Sayward Whittier, and mixed by Aaron Gause and Ryan Sayward Whittier.

I don't know why, I just keep coming back to this album. Lucid City is so beautiful and when Candice hits those notes, man, I lose it. I can't help but sing along, Kyle's beats are so enthralling.
